After almost 10 years in bottle (Magnums only remaining), we have decided to offer this limited release gem from the Cambridge Road Library. Packaged in a beautiful Cambridge Road embossed wooden box and packed with wood shavings.
This Pinot Noir is a single site wine from the cooler sub region of Martinborough known as Te Muna (Secret Place) Valley. We've handled the wine simply, one single large co-ferment encompassing the entire vineyard and embracing the natural diversity of several clones of Pinot Noir. Gentle maceration at modest temperatures <30 degrees Celsius, small basket pressing, light settling then a longer than average barrel time in my ambient cellar.
My wines from this vineyard tend to exhibit more floral/botanic characters and elevated cherry fruit, even in this year of the sun the wine retains an honest cool climate elegance avoiding any additions or technical refinements save a very light dose of SO2 prior to bottling.
I hope you love this wine as we do.
